FlyHugz® started with one stubborn problem on a long-haul flight, and a refusal to accept that “travel pillows just don’t work.”
A head that wouldn’t stay put
John flew constantly, red-eyes, layovers, back-to-back trips. Every U-shaped pillow he tried did the same thing: the moment he drifted off, his head flopped forward or sideways, and he’d jolt awake with a stiff, aching neck.
“I didn’t need more foam. I needed something that actually held my head in place.”
So he started sketching a different idea: not an open “U” that lets your head fall, but a full 360° wrap that gently locks it upright, the way a hug holds you.

After dozens of prototypes, the FlyHugz® design was born: a closed, wrap-around pillow that supports your neck from every angle so your head can’t flop, with a built-in eye mask and earplugs so you can switch off completely.
The first travelers who tried it said the same thing John felt on that first real flight with it: they actually slept, and arrived feeling human. Word spread, and FlyHugz® grew from a frustrating flight into a brand loved by over a million travelers worldwide.
The designer behind the Leopard Edition
Chelsey joined as co-founder with one obsession: that travel gear should feel as good as it looks. She poured months into the new Leopard Edition pillow and matching sleep mask, testing fabric after fabric, refining the print scale, and perfecting a soft-touch finish that photographs beautifully and feels even better at 35,000 feet.
